I used to be a huge fan of Oakley, especially back in the days when I used to love their Half Jackets that came with the interchangeable lenses. There was a color lense for any situation.
The only downside I found is that they did have the tendency to get scratched a lot easier.
I gave them another shot when I purchased some Mainlink Prizm Shallow Water Sunglasses with the Polarized Plutonite® Lenses, and like my previous Oakleys, the optics were very sharp and crisp, and the 'shallow water lenses' did a good job. The coverage of the frame was excellent, as it kept light out from the sides better than their other models. Unfortunately, like most of my pricey sunglasses, I ended up losing them after a month, so I can't say anything about the durability of the frame and if the lenses were susceptible to scratches like the previous ones I used.
I happened to get good deals on both Costa and Smith and love them both, but definitely would give Oakley another shot.
