Default Re: What Did You Buy Today?

While being an avid Fly Fisherman, my son and I also fish some bass tournaments and chase pike and muskies on occasion.

Friday I bought my "retirement boat"! Bought it now so that is is paid for before I actually retire!!!

The deck is huge - awesome casting platform, no basket required!

Today's haul, another Lamson reel, three spools, two Sonar uniform sinks, some bilious orange backing, thread, chenille, angora dubbing, a few spools of tippet....

But this takes the prize !

Ok. So, I didn't actually "buy" it. I rented it.
It's for my upcoming 10 day fishing/hunting adventure. Tired of putting miles and wear and tear on my truck.

Got some more brass beads in the mail and some tippet rings to try out.

Picked up this rod today. Cabela's has their "prime" series glass rods on sale for $50 so I couldn't pass it up. I got the 7ft 3in 5wt. I can't wait to fish it! It casts excellent!

Default Re: What Did You Buy Today?

A spool of 60 pound Berkley mono for leader butts - a pack of Umpqua #6 hooks for my tube flies (trout don't require huge) a spool of fluro tippet 12 lb. and............... I replaced my Benchmade Osborn 904 which I lost last week while clearing more brush at the cabin

The 904 is the one with the anodized green aluminum scales, pricey and I had that knife for 8 years.

You can bet that one won't be clipped on my pocket when I'm clearing brush. I threw down for the 904-1 with carbon fiber scales, deadly sharp knives, love em.
