An old Century Stealth 11ft #6/7 fly rod. Not sure of the age but 20 y-o+ at a guess.
I expect to find it a bit on the heavy side so may strip it down and rebuild with lighter hardware or as a smallish switch after giving it a fair trial.

I don't know much about the company other than they bought Pateke Morton's facilities in Washing, Tyne & Wear, England, prior to 1986 (where they still roll their own blanks) and are today highly respected in the beach-casting and carp fishing sectors. They no longer make s-h fly rods in the UK, only a few d-h*, but AdvancedfishingUSA sell a limited range of four s-h rods under the 'Century Stealth' brand so I presume it's a branch of Century Composites Ltd.?

I doubt this company made much of an impact in the States pre-2000 but if anyone has knowledge of other 'Stealth' models from this period I'd be grateful to hear. Thanks.

    * The UK d-h models include a variable weighting system built into the butt which allows anglers to balance their rods to their own preference with different reels. Not a bad idea.

I bought a Zippo rechargeable handwarmer, warming temps up to 120 degrees. Took it out a couple times, works much better then the air activated ones!

Denny, I got one of those for Christmas, took it down to the Flaming Gorge earlier this week. The wx forecast was for a high of 41 degrees and light and variable winds, not much need for a hand warmer in those conditions, but I wanted to give it try. Filled it up with lighter fluid and put the wick back on, then tried 4-5 matches, never did seem to want to fire up. Maybe I was doing something wrong?

Pics or it didn't happen. Also need a full report on this rod. You cannot tease us this way with mere text.

Just ordered it, so it hasn't come yet. I'll try to put some thoughts about the reel when I get to fish it some.
