Then we moved to Hotel Forelle ,they own the upper section of the Tuxbach and two tributaries.There was a swiss fisherman when we arrived but he left and then we were alone on the water
.We first fished the section near the glacier,it’s really easy ,the fish are numerous,they hide near and under the banks and we caught some nice ones near the skilift.We also fished the section under the heliport,it’s very interesting and completely neglected by clients so ….full of fish.The section above the heliport is easier to fish with (too)many brook trout.Two years ago Eva ,the owner of the lodge had asked us to fish the upper section of one of the tributaries to see was was going on…she had been amazed by the number of fish caught there…the place is still wonderful…and the fish bigger.It’s surprising to catch trout over 12 “ in such a small stream.We also fished the middle section in the canyon,not easy to get there but worth it for sure…Nico’s like a kid in a toystore!!!and I realize I’m not twenty anymore.On the last day we fished the section down the lodge…for the pleasure of the numerous hikers walking on the lane that runs along the stream….some bow and arrow casts under branches were particularly appreciated by the audience…Roland cooked us some delicious dinners,Eva is really very nice with us as always…as for the warden :secret:he tells everyone we’re the best flyfishermen he’s ever seen on the Tuxbach….funny.
