Thread: I received my Combo Kit in , now what?

  1. Default Re: I received my Combo Kit in , now what?

Hey, thanks for the ideas guys, especially about practice casting with yarn.
I have a DVD coming that I'm pretty sure will help.
I believe I'll get the Fly Fishing for Dummies, also.
Yes, on the back of this 'combo' package is some knots.
    Thanks again for your help.

    Charlie-

Sounds like you're off to a good start. There are a lot of videos on youtube to check out if you've got a fast connection to the internet. (They can be slow to load on dial up).

A good one for fly casting is the 3 part series from tight lines. Google up "Tight Lines Fly Casting Part One" . Good basics.

By the way, that whip crack sound you'll hear means you're not waiting long enough for the line to straighten out behind you on the backcast before you start the forward cast.

Keep the questions coming as you get them. BTW, any luck with finding fly fishing folks at Western Auto or the RV campground?
