    The single best phrase I've heard is from my uncle. Someone walks up and asks "where you hooking them?".... he sticks his index finger in his lips and says "right here".

    Classic stuff right there.

    I never "lose" a big bass or sunfish.
    If it got off the hook unseen ... "It was a gar."
    If it was seen ... "I slacked up, didn't want to bring that one in!"
