    Default Whatever Happened to... Countr21?

The last of my backpacking gear arrived this week as I plan to jump back into it after a (nearly) 20-year hiatus.

Moving to Utah got the juices flowing, discovering Rich Osthoff's book go me to serious thinking, and then stumbling upon NAFFF and Countr21's trip reports planted the dreams.

Those familiar with his work know what I am talking about (it's worthy of a "search" if not), but does anybody know what happened to him? He's been MIA from here for about a year and a half.

I do not, when he first joined we traded a lot of PM's regarding some off the path spots I knew but then he just faded away. The same thing happened with some others who were regulars. I have sent what I call Proof of Life messages to many members over the years just trying to learn whether there was some reason they stopped visiting. Many answer that life just went haywire.

Drop the guy a PM and see if he replies...…………………...

I don't know either, Countr21 and I used to exchange pm's on a regular basis, but he just faded off the forum.

I was also inspired by a few of his posts in the past, too bad he faded away.

Yes, dropped him a line via PM. I thought maybe another active NAFFF member may have known him personally.

Really miss his contributions this time of year.

I can search through my e-mail log to see if we chatted via regular e-mail, if so I'll drop him a line.

This is pretty accurate. With two kids and working 60 a week fly fishing has been on the back burner for me. Crummy but life just gets in the way.

I'll send him an email to see how he is doing. I for one really miss reading his trip reports into the high country.

Exactly. His reports were like bringing "the book" to life!

This being THE book of course.

Joe: Yes, indeed, he sure did have a way to make for some enjoyable reading and those photos always wonderful.
