    I like my cork handle clean. Easy enough to rub down with wet wipes every few outings and it will keep the cork in excellent condition. Make sure you air dry it before putting back in case.

    The rod at the top still has fish scales on the cork from the last time time my grandfather used that rod back in 1962
    I'd never clean it.

    Warm water, Dawn and a sponge (not the green abrasive side). Light pressure, the filler they use seems to scrub away pretty easily. If you're getting ready to sell the rod, give the blank a once over for water spots, finger prints, etc...
