    Maybe try a soak in diluted vinegar? Rinse and hang dry outside. It works on sour towels. I don't like to have artificial scents on me while outdoors, even though it probably doesn't make a difference fishing.

    I wonder about handling issues......I handle fish almost everyday, and none of my gear smells.
    Part of it may be that I don't handle the fish to let them go.....
