    Rowdy, I have a couple of fenwicks also so I understand your comment on reel weight same as rod designated weight. The old and most the new glass are allot heavier than plastic though.
    Now I will add the BBS is a killer reel, and the Mid Arbor for those in the cooler areas as less pigtailing.

    I was just recalling the old days when a Pflueger Medalist was good enuff!
    Nowadays it's a "fashion show" on the streams. Everybody has the latest "Jewel" locked into their reelseat..

    I still use the Medalist on cane rods. (old ones) Too bad they're made in Asia now.

    For me, it is English Old Orvis, and Airflo, and GERMAN: Vosseler.

    But I like the jewelry LOL

    English yes. I do like the old J.W.Young reels. Tough as tanks.

    I decided to save every dime possible for 2008, and found these reels on
    closeout for $200 each. Now I have to be frugal again
