Hi All,
I recently took advantage of a good sale price to treat myself with new Patagonia foot tractor wading boots (the old version being discontinued, hence the sale, not the new Patagonia/Danner collaboration version).
The boots are pretty awesome on all aspects (well except maybe the laces which feel thin and not on par with the overall sturdyness of the boots, but doesn’t take much to change the laces!) however I have discovered that Patagonia has discontinued the offering of aluminium bar replacement kits! As a result I am wondering if I should try and buy a kit or two whilst a few fly shops still have them... Kits in my size are a hefty 70bucks so before i part with the money (allegedly on a good sales discount you could buy a pair of decent wading boots for that price...) I was wondering : how quick do the aluminium bars «*wear*», and by the time the aluminium bars are done is there enough life left in the boots to justify fitting new bars?
Thanks!
