With all good wishes to Kelly, I got scared when I saw the title to this thread.
I thought it was about Kevin Garnett

Welcome back Kelly, don't know about you, but I am finding as I get older that I have to listen to the doc and rest when injured, etc even if stubborn old me doesnt want to. If I don't it takes much longer to get fully recovered. Oh, I don't really want to be 19 again, I just wish my body looked, felt, and healed the way it did when I was

I missed it, too! Hope you're doing well, Kelly. Sounds like foot/knee surgery(?)

You've gotten some good advice: stay with your Doctor's instructions; position and PT, it's the quickest ticket to being back to 100% quickly.

Wow, thanks everyone for your support. The ankle is healing; whether it's healing well or not is hard to tell, but I assume so since its in a cast just as if I broke my ankle.

Here is a pic from my first surgery in December of 2009:

And, here is a pic of the most recent surgery three weeks ago to fuse everything:

This is the third operation on this ankle. This time I had four incisions and 31 staples. Previous surgeries included a total of four incisions for a grand total of 8 points of entry into my foot and about 60+ staples.

I don't have much of a choice in recovery due to the cast, and I want to do everything in order for things to heal correctly so I can get back on the water soon.

So, again, thanks to all for your concern and kind remarks. This is just a bump in the road and we'll be back out there ASAP.

    Kelly.

P.S.: It has given me time to tie up a bunch of flies...hehehehe!
