Snake River Run Off and of May 2009. The river is at 14500cfs right now on this stretch which ussually runs about 2500-3000cfs. They have not even cranked open the dam yet so this run off is just from the tributaries. The plan is to open up the dam on June 8th. So even higher water is coming!!

Additional note:

Right now they are releasing just over 5000cfs from the dam at Jackson Lake. They have an average of 9000cfs flowing in to the lake at Flagg Ranch. With the lake at 85% of capacity they will have to match the inflow soon.

The good news is that the water flows on the South Fork below Palisades Res are being cut back. Palisades is currently at 55% of capacity, so they will continue to cut back flows in order to fill that lake up. They let the water out early this year to do some work on the dam. With decreased water flow the fishing will be heating up on the South Fork from now on.

The Clark's Fork is raging like that as well. I'm not sure if it is a normal year or not, but there is some serious chocolate water rushing down the river.
