Thread: Reel seat rings

    Default Reel seat rings

Some reel seat rings I've been working on. The first is turned from brass and aged to match the hardware on a late 19th century rod. The chemical aging process I use isn't very tough so I'm not worried that it could be passed off as an original. The pattern of grooves and coining is just something I made up and doesn't match any known (to me, at least!) pattern:

These six are for an individual who's having three custom Spey rods built. The next step will be cutting the facets on the plain center section followed by throwing a bright polish on them:

The man who busies himself proclaiming something can't be done is frequently interrupted by the man doing it.

Nice job. Are you going to clear coat them?

Life is not like a bowl of cherries. It's more like a jar of ghost peppers. What you eat today might burn your ass tomorrow...
