Quick and dirty wing burning

I promised a few pictures. Sorry again for some of the quality but it will give you an idea of how to do it.

The stuff you need.....sorry forgot the lighter in the picture, but you need a lighter.


Prepare the feathers. You could actually cut the top part off as well, but I like burning things so I don't.:D


I use hemostats with flat jaws to flatten the stem of the feather so it sits flat in the burner.


Place the feather in the burner


Take your lighter and burn everything away from around the form. You end up with this.


When you take it out of the clamp, just run it between your thumb and index finger to remove the excess burnt material and you end up with these.

Yes I think Wilkey was looking for some direction with burning wing cases etc. so I thought I would post these really bad pictures to help...Kerry:)

Typically they come in sets of three. Chris is right, if there is no shop near by e-bay is a good bet just check your shipping costs.....Kerry:)
