I agree with "google" for finding new foam patterns. Since there has been talk of heavy hopper populations in the northwest US some of us have been on a quest for foam hopper patterns. I constantly use google for this. Another thing that you may want to consider are foam body cutters. Sure makes flies easier especially when there are two layers. The layers line up perfectly.

    Hi la truite,

You should also take a look at the Rainy site for foam materials.

There are a myriad of options, depending on what you are fishing for and what kind of flies you want to tie.

There are alot of flies you can tie using sheets of foam you can buy at just about any store that sells any arts and crafts supplies. The sheets usually sell for about $.50, and you can tie alot of flies from a couple of sheets.

Another great source for cheap foam is flip flops. You can usually find them for $1 a pair.

These are very easy to turn on a toothpick, using a drill or dremel tool and an emery board

A very easy tie is a foam spider

Using foam is both cheap and fun, grab a few chunks and go wild!

The more you know, the less you need.

Yep, a friend of mind told me that he slices flip flops on his table saw to widths that he wants. We were talking about gurglers at the time. He showed me the flip flop and it was pretty thick ( inch maybe inch and a half at the heal area).
