Mono-loops

I have been thinking about tying some hoppicators lately, but I have one question. How do you make the mono-loops that you tie on the hook shank?

The mono loops on a Hoppicator are made from one strand of monofilament. Use 50 denier GSP thread to cinch it down. There are no knots on the loop. Make sure to make your thread wraps tight. Use Zap-a-Gap to glue the thread.

I figure out the length of mono I need and tie it in as if it were a loop with the joint in the loop midway down the hook with the ends butted up against each other tightly. This makes a smooth body with no bumps.
