You absolutely should. Here are some simple instructions:
Streamer Hook: I use Daiichi 2220, or whatever you like.
Take some of the tips from a blood quill Marabou and tie them in at the tail. Add flash if you like.
Then cut/strip some of the plumage you'd otherwise throw away from the feather you just used for the tail and apply to your thread.
Wrap this up to the bead. Then take some wraps back to the tail through what you just dubbed. This will help keep the base of the dubbing in place. Add more dubbing and re-wrap to the abdomen of the fly.
Make a few wraps to give a taper to the body in the abdomen and then wrap forward to your bead or eye of the hook.
You can wrap back to the tail again if you like and overlay those wraps back up to the bead if you want to lock it down.
Take a brush and tease out the marabou, especially the abdomen and head of the fly. Black is an obvious color choice.
Don't be afraid to mix colors either. Black & olive, Black & claret are winners.
