I'll cast another vote for the Renzetti Traveler 2000. Well made vise, very easy to use and beginner friendly.

So right now I have the lead on the peak and the renzetti both at 120. I am sure I cannot go wrong with either one but if there both for sale I would like to get the best one for the money at that price

I’ve been using a Griffin Spider for coming up on 20 years. Beginner rotary? Maybe, but it works great for little $. I tie up to 7/0 bucktail striper jigs on it. My son tied into the 20’s with it. He has a Renzetti Traveller now and it’s a really nice one, also.

    Hey,

Just buy a base and steam, then get a small pair of vice grips and have them welded to the steam...Now you will have a vice that will last a life time and never wear out..CB

Picking up the peak tomorrow for a 100. Iíve been looking around at what are the first flies to tie,

Does anyone have a good idea on like 5 flies to tie first and the. Material list for them?

I fish warmwater most of the time but I also fish streams and rivers in the mountains of New Hampshire

Start simple and get this book:

Simple Flies: 52 Easy-to-Tie Patterns that Catch Fish.

I found it very informative and it may help prevent you from going overboard buying tying materials.

I have never used a Renzetti, I am just putting my 2 cents worth in. Hope you find what your looking for.
Here is a link for the Atlas:

Iíll second the Wolff Atlas. Iíve been very happy with mine.

Do you have a local fly shop? Could be a great source for patterns and materials.
