Came across some interesting pics of a fly fishing celebrity recently and thought I'd share. The pics were actually posted over a period of a couple seasons but the two fish are clearly the same.....with 6 different wardrobes. Things that make you go hmmmm!?

Yes, the fish look the same. I just went through her IG profile. She has so many posts I got tired of looking through her pics And didn’t find any of those pics. How you were able to find all of those over different seasons is beyond me.
Most of the so called IG celebs hire professional photographers, use filters, are paid promoters, etc. Take them with a grain of salt.

Three of the different wardrobes were actually pointed out to me last year. Then come bass season this year another pic I instantly recognized as the same 2 fish popped up. A quick look at her page yielded 2 more pics of the same 2 fish with 2 more outfits.....some of the pics were actually deleted after she was questioned about (and denied) ever having kept fish for wardrobe changes...

I have no doubt this kind of thing happens more than we'd care to know. At a time when we have groups like PETA protesting our beloved sport I think this type of needless overhandling for sponsor fodder is a potential black eye on our sport.

maybe she had a live well on that shiny bass blaster? Dont they keep bass alive for entire days of fishing later to be released? Or maybe she kept them?

To do so click Forums at top menu bar then scroll down to find the Lodge Den sub forum. That's where New Member Introductions are hidden :) BTW. the pictures are just another example why I am numb to grip & grin fish pictures. Generally when I see one I leave the page or thread and look for something more substantive.

Welcome to the forum, I take it you are a Bass fisherman?

Interesting, definitely the same bass. Also, the fly line is completely on the reel in each photo, there’s no fly anywhere to be seen, and the carpet is dry. Boxes on deck don’t vary in position either. Photo #4 and #6 have the same cloud pattern, but the model is wearing different clothes.

Does she actually even fish, but, you know, I don’t really care. What is the payoff for her? Instagram influencer? I guess everyone has to make a living somehow.

All of her sponsors...Cortland, Abel, Realtree, Mustad, Ross, Onyx, Aluma Craft....should all be told that this is not acceptable behavior and I would hope they wouldn't want their brand or our natural resources falsely represented in this manner. I know she's a good angler........but shameless self promotion of your "brand" (I hate that word by the way) is just irresponsible and phony.

Great brand ambassador.......

Yes, that is a newer version of my Alumacraft walleye boat. Live well is large with an aerator on an auto timer. Not that I make a habit of it but I can keep warm water species alive and looking good literally for days. Then release them.

But that's not the point. She is supposed to be a fly fishing pro/celebrity and she is scamming her fans. Back to the NASCAR analogy, she won Daytona today, and is posing with multiple trophies and pretending she's a five time champion. Can't believe she didn't bother to change out the yoga pants. Good catch Riptide. She deserves to be shamed some.

I look at her posts as nothing but advertisement. It’s no different than any of the fishing catalogues where guys are holding fish selling a product. I am sure they use the same fish as well. She is just an Instagram catalogue model. I don’t really see it as a big deal.
I also feel that this new member with this being his very first post had an agenda to smear this person on a personal level which I feel is just as wrong or maybe more so than the photos.

That is pretty horrendous behavior. It is not questionable. It is clearly an attempt to mislead the public and defraud the sponsors.
I don't think she is defrauding her sponsors. I think the whole point of that exercise is her sponsors. With each clothing change she sports a different sponsor in her grip-and-grin photo. In one felled swoop, she has great fish porn that each of her sponsors can use.

You may be right, regardless of my banter with you on the opposing side, we'll soon know if this was just a drive by troll job and no interest in actually contributing to this forum.

This is along the same ilk as a local "guide" who was put on blast mode in VA/TN/NC for shamelessly self promoting himself. He would snag fish at night during spawning season when the big fish would congregate upriver and take numerous hero shots of the same fish...holding them for several hours in makeshift holding pens in the shallows...so he could represent himself as something he was not.....which was a great angler. He would then do the the social media hero brag job. Looking for "likes", praise and ultimately sponsorship, brand ambassadorship or whatever the heck the industry is doing now to promote itself....all for financial gain. Word got around and he moved on to do the same **** somewhere else.

It's not healthy, sporting or representative of an angler that cares about anything besides themselves.

It's a bass...there's a livewell.....so what? It's disgusting. The sport doesn't need this ****.
