Avs, that's a super looking fly, I'll take a dozen Seriously though, your tying has really progressed in the time you've been at it. It has been fun to watch! That's a killer looking tie; very, very well done!

Thanks Jaybo, appreciate the compliment. I gotta tell you I am thoroughly enjoying this side of the sport. I was worried I would not be able to make anything decent.

I'll never forget the first fish I caught on one of my flies , it was awesome. I was still excited when I realized I "finned him". I thought at least that means the fish went for my offering.

I guess it was only view #58,000. Right before I clicked on the thread it said '57,999 views'.

Been filling my nymph box back up after defiling it last summer and fall. I'll try to get some pics up.
PlanetTrout... always great patterns, I get a lot of great ideas from your blog, seems they work well in CO also!

Remove the bead and add a wing from the yellow and black, and you'd have an awesome hornet/yellowjacket pattern for midsummer.

Caddis variants are my favorite, so many ways to tie them!

I was thinking the same thing - the yarn turned out to be much yellower than I planned, the brown one is real Chadwick's as in Frank Sawyer's Killer bug. I think I will try a hornet and see what it looks like!

bellyache brown #6 (tungsten belly, rides hook up)

Filling my favorite nymph box, sizes 14-22.

Other side, same box, sizes 6-12. Gotta tie up some more girdle bugs!

The 'Hot Box'. If I take only one fly box, this is it. Everything from #24 midges to giant articulated streamers. Successful patterns get moved in, and occasionally it gets cleaned out. If you look closely, you might see a fly swap fly of your own!

One more featherwing on a blind eye 1.5 for murky water. The collar rolled a bit and the head is a bit wonky but fish don't care.

    Tip: sm silver oval tinsel

    Body: brown wool
    Rib: oval silver tinsel
    Hackle: grey schlappen
