Love the rainbow warrior, I learned on that one. Blind luck for me as its a super productive nymph I have dozens of them accumulated.

That cased caddis is a work of art, Joni. But do fish actually eat them?

    hey guys,
    i just tied my first RS2 's , all are size 18
any idea if my tails are way too long? and what about wing size? did i get it right? i want to tie a bunch more in different colors but need to make sure sizing is right
i used CDC for wings and Super Fine dry fly dubbing for the body Adams Gray and Olive

i will also try it with marabou for wings next.
    any feedback? thanks

I am betting they do when they are set to a drift. I fish it like a nymph and they hit it hard.

I remember on numerous occasions cleaning fish with Dad. We'd open up the gut to see what they were eating. They loved the cased caddis larva. These ones were really dark brown to black, made from little bits of wood and bark. We'd pull them out of their shells and they'd still be alive. I know the trout eat them. Not sure how to fish them though.

When they break off the rock or whatever they are stuck to, then just float or roll across the bottom is how I picture it in my head. I do use a long leader when fishing thm and a slack in the line.
