Default What have you been tying today?

Well decided to make up a random fly using materials I had. Opted for gold wrapped body some turkey feather that I found in the woods for the tail wooly bugger hackle for the wrap and deer hair for the head. I think it turned out pretty cool looking I guess it's kinda like a caddis. I guess ill figure out if it will catch anything when trout start feeding on top!

Streamwalker, that fly looks WILD! Even though you're hoping to float it, I bet it'd work even better as a small wet fly like a tiny sculpin pattern. But hey, maybe that's just me.

I'm in the middle of tying 48 dozen flies for 4 fly boxes I am going to donate to PHW at the Wounded Warriors Fort Belvoir, and the WITU State Council Banquet. I have 32 dozen tied so far. Only 16 dozen to go.

If you are interested in this PHW, you can read about it on their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/BelvoirPHW

Beginning on the right side of the boxes, top row and going down the flies are:
    Row 1 - Copper Johns
Row 2 - Pink Squirrels and Flashback PTs
    Row 3 - Beadhead Shopvacs
Rows 4 & 5 - Assorted Caddis Pupa (Woven, Acrylic, & Stretch Tube)
Row 6 - Acrylic shellback scuds

    Left Side
    Row 1 - Foam Ants
Row 2 - Sunken Acrylic Ants
Row 3 - Rusty Organza Spinners With Egg Sacs being tied now
Rows 4,5, & 6 will be parachute adams and BWOs, Sulphur/PMD CDC emergers, and X-Caddis.

Well, it's nearly April here, and we're in the teeth of a blizzard at the moment. Will it never end!

A few to stave off the cabin fever.

I wasn't tying today but my doc was when my thumb met my table saw blade. He said I should still be able to cast on opening day though.
