I tied 2 dozen of these over the winter, but somehow only 6 ended up in my box. Apparently I gave them to my buddies with the intent of tying more for me. I had 6 in my box and lost 4 last Saturday so obvioulsy needed more. Caught 16 fish on these last Saturday. This is a "borrowed" pattern from Frank of Bush Creek Cane. Only "recipe" I've ever seen online for this was on PT's site

Poor quality materials and tools are destined to discourage beginner tiers and cause greater expense when the time comes to replace them.

Went to K-Mart with the wife... Of course I hit the fishing section and tons of stuff is on clearance. Hook packs were anywhere from .45c to .74c

I saw these red hooks and a stupid crayfish idea popped in my head... Just a prototype so its pretty ugly but I'll probably fish it just for the heck of it.

I hate when a good idea just doesn't come together well :banghead:

    F-Fly red

I should note that this is not my design. But I did tweak it a little by tapering the body into a midge look. I have tried several versions of this fly. With dubbing, without, improved Han's style version, cut cdc, uncut cdc etc... I am tying these for a trout trip in the fall.
