Default Root River and spring run

Hey guys,
When is a good time to fish the spring run? Do they run starting in early march, or do I have to wait longer? Any info would be great.

There are fish in the system all winter/spring. Watch the usgs flow gage for the river. With each thaw/ rain that causes a bump in river elavation you will see a fresh batch of fish come up from the lake. Peak is "usually" in the middle to latter part of this month for numbers of fresh fish in the system.

Also consider the warm winter this year. I suspect the run will happen sooner than later. Dont know for sure but I would think there might be some fish moving in allready.
