    Default Ohio Steelhead Report

This was a nice 28" steelhead caught on a trip with Mike (MRidenour) and Steve. He took a green/black wooly bugger.

This was the second 28" chrome and took the same bugger. The water was a nice pea green to chocolate and great for streamers!

Mike's first steelhead! Can you tell from the smile on his face? He took it on a black zonker. We didn't get a tape on it, but it was estimated in the 28 to 29" range.

Closer look at the prettiest thing in the picture, not Mike, but the fish!

Steve's turn to get into the fun! Check out the frozen ice flows behind him.

This beast gave me the best fight at 25" as it bulldogged me a couple of times and had to work like crazy to keep tight to him. This was the first fish in a triple with Steve, Mike and I!

This is a closer look at the wooly bugger in action for the fish in previous picture. In summary, this was a great trip. I have been on my fair share of steelhead trips that end in a bagel. This is one that I will remember for a long time!

Rick: Sorry I missed your post earlier. You and Mike really hooked into some nice Steelhead, congrats! It was even better seeing that Mike landed his first Steelhead. Where is this thousand cast thing I keep hearing about?

Mike was working on his hundreds and was great to be able to net it with Glen (lakeflyer) there as well. It is great to catch fish, but I also enjoy watching others have a great time as well!

I had posted it under the Great Lakes region, and I think MIke put his under coldwater. Our buddy has a video of our triple, but says it is too long for FB. I was just telling Larry that I plan to replace my stolen GoPro and post some videos in the future!

I never leave town without the camera. With that said, it is a guarantee that when you forget the camera, you are going to miss a fish you wish you could have captured on film! So if you want to catch big fish, just don't take the camera!

Great pics of some very nice fish!

Why were all of you bundled up? Was it cold or something?

I don't mind the layering-would just prefer to fish without gloves. The gloves seem to catch way too many hooks. Although, gloves do make a great snot rag-lol!
