    Default New Spey Forum

    Hi Everyone,

OK, I think I have everything sorted out and the new Spey Fishing Forum is ready for business. Let me know if you have any problems. As the traffic changes I can make more changes as needed.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.

    Hi Everyone,

There has been a suggestion that we call this forum "Spey and Switch Fishing" forum. What do you think? Any other suggestions. It is not hard to change the title if we decide to. Lets have some feedback.

I think that would be fine.

I'm fine with the change, Frank. Switch rods are basically mini-Spey rods anyways.

I think just calling it 'Spey Forum' is fine. Since switch rods are still spey rods, it is kinda redundant adding the switch. By the way, did you know Bob Meiser is the originator of the switch rod? The term "grain window" started there also. Meiser is the spey Yoda.

Spey fishing is a technique, a technique that is not dependant on a spey rod. You can spey cast with a one handed rod, a switch rod, or a spey rod.
Thus Spey and switch is redundant. And specifying the tool used is minor.

You may want to try to include overhand casting and rename this to "the double handed rod", to include both spey casting with spey rods (or switch, or single handed) and overhand casting with spey rods and switch rods.
