Wow!

The bull trout is one of my dream fish! Unfortunately we don’t have them this side of the Atlantic but I hope that one day I ll have some time for a special trip! Hopefully they will still exist then, I have read quite often articles about how close to extinct the species is...

Please keep the pictures coming!

Caught in the Hoh River in 2009; I was fishing for steelhead and would have been skunked if not for this Bull/Dolly. I'm not sure, but I believe if they are sea-run, then they must be Dollies. And they must be sea-run in the Hoh.20090306-MC-1471-1.jpg

Today I was fortunate to hook into a bull trout here in Montana. I was using my new to me 9’6” 3wt nymphing rod. I wasn’t fishing for them but this one went after a streamer I decided to try. I about had it in the net then my knot at the hook came undone. About 20-24 inch. To say the least I’m bummed I didn’t land it but very happy I got a chance to add this spot to my list for future trips.
