Gore makes a similar product, i.e. two layers, with the membrane on the outside and fabric on the inside, where the two are completely bonded together. They call it Shakedry and it's been problematic because it's fragile. No DWR is to be used since the membrane is on the outside. Gore used to make this fabric in two different thicknesses, but it seems they've pretty much abandoned the thicker version (which wasn't very thick as far as Goretex jackets go). If you start searching for Shakedry jackets you'll see they're mostly for running or cycling. They'll get too beat up for regular fishing use. But it's a step forward technology wise, so I hope they figure it out.
