A small dam across the Rio Cebolla creates this pond. NMG&F built it to try and maintain a population of Rio Grande Cutthroats. The stream below the pond is 2' to 3' wide at the best; above the pond about 1' to 2' wide. Above the dam, the stream is full of little cutties and browns. NMG&F allows the unlimited keeping of browns (and rainbows is they are there) but catch and release of cutties. This year, the same rules apply below the dam. On of my wife and mine favorite spots. (Photo is 5 veritical shots merged in Lightroom,)

Please excuse me if I seem confused but you can harvest the browns and rainbows if I read correctly. Ant the cut throats are a threatened species that the state is trying to protect and recover... So the cut throat are C&R or protected. Is that right?
