Those look great. Have you have had much chance to fish them? I like the idea of adding a stand of flash inside the flex tubing.

You do some very nice work! Any one of those would fish around here. Is the flex cord specific to fly tying or something you can get at a craft store? I’ve never played with it but that looks like some walleye candy.

Fly shops have the wide flat stuff. The craft stores have the round in different varieties. I found this Pearl color at DollarTree...Kinda hit and miss finding it. Women use it for wreath/flower arrangements. Oops spilled the live shrimp bucket...C377369D-EAB5-45DD-8F5D-BCC02FB5B286.jpeg3C40CE39-19EC-45AE-9C1E-925042D38EDE.jpegB2399F67-6B38-4BF7-BE50-A64BE85D7FDC.jpegAA5813B1-031B-4393-82CD-D34A7BA01EAA.jpeg79E899BE-D74F-4A98-A953-B301011F6764.jpeg

You can jazz’em up by inserting different colors into them. You can tie flash or feather tails by tying over a needle lil glue and slide of or just unravel and tie down. In order to make the bodies bulge out you gotta hit/smear lil Krazyglue on the mesh to capture the shape but don’t overdo it. Needs to stay bendable. On the shrimp and Cdads use needle to thread legs thru and touch of glue to secure... Glass rattles can be put in too. The head of the shrimp have that. You can insert dubbing for color or “gut”. Careful and not loose your hookbite/gap.

Ok. I can walk to the dollar tree but driving is much easier. Fly shops around here are gone. I look for off the wall materials all the time at craft stores. I shall wander in to check.

BTW, fr8dog, Never seen it at HobbyLobby but I have accumulated lots of flash from there and “kids hair” from DollarTree. Xmas time, PartyStores(craftfur). 5A9D7492-28EF-4FBF-A41D-88CDA94C3AE5.jpeg8B340276-DC65-4F15-82BE-9E58792809D1.jpegD2FF850C-2B37-4E6E-A993-E44985B4580A.jpeghit and miss...

Those are super cool. I don't fish salt much but I am thinking I can make some killer streamers out of that stuff. Thanks so much for sharing!!!

Caution Tater. This stuff is kinda stiff in short sections. Made a mistake by using too much on some lil popper tails and had to snip it shorter and sparse it up cuz was missing bream strikes. It’s lots stiffer than Craftfur and is not tapered so can trim. I’ve spun it for hackle on big poppers and used it for big streamers. It works well with bucktail, flash, feathers combined. Only place I’ve found it is DollarTree and call it “kids hair” and it takes awhile to collect all colors. Never found red but found a different version at a PartyStore.
