Hello All

to introduce myself I'm a flyfisher from the North East of England and a regular participant in the UK flyfishing forum. As well as fishing one of my other hobbys, particularly during the close season, is making custom nets and flyreels.

Id thought some of the overseas members would be interested in seeing some of my reel creations that have come out of my good old british garden shed.......

Everything is made from scratch, the main components being aircraft grade aluminium anodised and dyed in my own homemade anodising bath, bright work is stainless steel and non metallic parts are delrin. The only bits I don't make myself are the bolts (but generally I tinker with these too to make the heads neater and more pleasing in the eye.

Most work is done on my 7x12 minilathe.

Fantastic machine work and anodizing Rover, I've seen your posts on the UK forums and I'm sure the compliments will be coming your way from our members here soon.

Wow. That’s impressive.
I showed my son how to whittle a stick into a point the other day and was pretty pleased with myself. Hard to imagine you make these out of your shed.

Awesome stuff. I see alot of Ari T' Hart influence. Not an easy person to emulate.

I've only recently started dabbling with drag systems, on the rivers I fish over here a drag isn't really that important so I tend to stick to click and pawl, but when If I do them it's a disc and draw bar assembly and works beautifully.
