Recently a 76 year old man drowned in the Salmon River, in New York. There was not much other information given. It was thought that he was trying to cross the river at an area called Ellis Cove an got swept off his feet. Just a reminder to everyone to be save out there especially if fishing by yourself. Also this is a good reason to use a wading staff.

Sad to hear this stuff happen. I know the spot all too well...above 500 CFS....you shouldn't be thinking about crossing this river. Be safe out there everyone. Wear a wading belt, wading staff, studs, and consider a flotation device.
