Hey, I'd love some specific recommendations on where to fish for warm or cold water around memphis. Also always looking for a buddy.

There are several tailwater opportunities in AR, the White, Little Red, etc. for trout.

East of you, the closest trout fishing is probably the Elk river and/or Chaney Fork in middle TN or the Cumberland River in KY just over the border.

Blueline trout fishing in TN is all the way to the east close to NC. The GSMNP, North and South Cherokee National Forests.

The Spring River below Mammoth Springs, Arkansas is great opportunity that’s not affected by tailwater generations/ floods. Summertime gotta watch for the canoe hatch but great in off season. Stock trout with some nice carry overs possible. Saw a huge Tigermusky there once, but no joy. Check MarkCrawfords blog for float trips. $250 plus tip and small town motel rates at Riverview. Can’t beat that! Get license/permit at Jonesboro Wallyworld and on up to Mammoth is on Mo. line. Wading at Lassiter and dam 3. Nice hatchery but construction soon. The trout like bigger flashier flies. The float trips are catch and release but I usually kill a few wading for motel guy I met there. I never kill the browns. Have made many trips there. My daughter and I got a “blow up boat” for some even more economical floats!
