I'm looking at getting a bigger raft. I was previously set on getting a Watermaster Bruin but have since changed my mind due to a growing family. This boat would mainly be for fishing in Southwest Montana but I'd like the option to just do family floats as well. Does anyone have experience with the Star Bug series? I'm also not against a Star Outlaw, Aire Tributary, or RMR but I've read a few things about the Bug series that makes me think it would be a great fishing boat.

Without an inflated floor in contact with the water, your carrying capacity is gonna be lower than similarly sized rafts. They do compensate somewhat by using larger tubes, but then give it back with the rocker/diminished tube design. I would advise you to go bigger than your instinct tells you. Carrying the family, you'll be glad you did.
