Beautiful Red Spotted. How often do you come across individuals with high levels of red in your area? A lot of the areas I fish locally the red is fairly muted, but there are two locations where it seems that 10% of the fish just glow red.

Only place I have even found them with regularity in East Texas is in the Neches River below Lake Palestine. Water is clear just below the dam and their colors stay very nice.

Interesting, the water is pretty murky (common for south Louisiana) everywhere I encounter them.

For comparison, here's one of the drab ones I commonly catch:

May as well be a piranha if you're a cricket, worm, etc. Drop a work out small piece of bait around a school. They really attack.

Really enjoy catching them, especially on a fly and then especially on top.

Enjoy the pictures almost as much.
