Had a free hour and so took the Tenkara rod to the local pond. Ended up with 12 bluegills. Here are the ones I took photos of:

Spent last week up in the Poconos fishing Shohola Lake with some friends. It wasn't a bad week. Started out hot, the first full day of fishing, I ended up with 32 bluegills. The first one I caught was the biggest of the week. It measured 9 1/2 inches and took a size 6 slider

Another one, took the same fly as the big one.

Down at the pond again last night
and picked up this Bluegill. Got a couple of Bass as well, but they weren't photo worthy.

We have an abundance of pretty small Bass. A good one would be 12 inches, most are smaller.

We have some decent Bluegill though.

I fished a lake I call “The Dead Sea” there are nice fish in it but, they’re extremely hard to find. It’s been several years since I caught any gills. Luck was with me today I caught several nice Bluegills. I kept a few smaller (-8”) for tacos. I just love catching them!E3973009-7EF6-4A78-A034-5022A66C167E.jpeg8B4CAA7F-8EE8-49B0-94F4-8E179CC2B680.jpeg

Got several nice Bluegill on this fly tonight. Had to stop when I tangled my leader and couldn't see to fix it. Probably too dark to see and unhook fish too though.

It's hard enough to tie fine tippet in good light. I'm hopeless when it starts getting dark. I usually tie on the fly I'm going to use when it's light and don't change after it starts getting dark. I usually leave them still hitting bugs on the surface.
