The Saturday afternoon before Father's Day a package arrived in the mail for me. It was the TenkaraBum 33. I usually fish with either 360 cm or 395 cm rod lengths but had been thinking about a shorter rod for quite awhile. Because of Covid 19, and not being able to get out to coffee shops, my slush fund had grown nicely. After emailing back and forth with Chris Stewart I pulled the trigger on the 33. I've been out with it a few times now and have been impressed with the rod. It is slightly stiffer than the TB 36, casts both nymphs and unweighted flies equally well and is very accurate. I have also been extremely impressed with the hook sets. It is fun with both small and larger fish. The rod is both good looking and well balanced. I really, really like it and would highly recommend the TB 36.
