Filling up a spring quick grab box. A box that I can slip in the pocket of my waders and go.

Tonight was Pat's Rubber Legs, and more Iron Lotus. The picture is halfway through me barring the stretch legs with a sharpie.

Hare's Ear
Peasant tail
Midge nymphs
Scuds
Peeping caddis
Black stone
Silli worm

Still needs copper johns, perdigons and some Wd-40s.

Basically a who's who of effective nymphs for my local haunts.

Once this is done it'll be smallmouth and panfish flies (and tying to replace ones from this box). The ones below the silli worms are panfish flies that I have to transfer to another box. 20210419_223629.jpg20210419_223435.jpg20210419_214945.jpg

Twiston Scud

Hook - Standard nymph/wet fly style
Thread - Color to match the scud you're trying to imitate
Weight - A strip of twiston lead weight trimmed to the shape of a scud
Ribbing - Wire or monofilament
Shell back - Magic foil or scud back
Body - Dubbing in tour favorite scud color

For a wider profile, use lead tape and trim it to shape

Will it roll over in the current, probably. Will the fish care, probably not
