Hi,

I am looking for a genuine Matarelli whip finisher with a “V” grove thread cutter that Frank would make on the the end of it. I know I could do this myself, but I’m looking for one that Frank made. They were also sold at Blue Ribbon Flies several years ago. Please PM if you have one you would sell. Thank you! Stay Safe!

Frank's stuff is getting hard to find. After he passed away the company went away. They haven't made any new ones in years. I have a couple of his whip finishing tools and neither one has a v groove. OK, I became curious and did some research. Frank did make some with a groove for friends and some for Blue Ribbon Flies, but the notch appears to no be the standard. http://classicflyrodforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=110234

How hard can it be to take a fine triangular file, add your own notch, and sharpen it with the edge of a hook sharpener? Or just flatten the end and sharpen it?
