This picture is about as real & gritty as they get for a 'camp cooking shot' while John and Pam (fysh & Mrs. Fysh) were here in August we pulled over on a large gravel bar and built a fire. another simple meal. Just catch a pike, clean it and then fry it in butter on a camping cooker. Together with a fresh beer and a butter bread - YUMMY

Pike is good Casey, strong fish taste if compared to salmon or anything else I can think of here in AK. They are similar to Crappie or any other pan fish like Rock Bass etc.

I caught that pike in the baltic sea (salty water) and we were absolutely surprised how good the meat was. It was not tender as we knew that from freshwater fishes - the consistence of the meat was more like that what we know from a big shrimp SIMPLY YUMMY
