There are no flowers here yet but it is staying daylight until 9:40 at night. Sun is lighting the land by 5:30 AM pretty well so we are on the downside of winter for sure.

I had thought I might go to the Kenai River today (friday April 5) but the morning was cold and I was not willing to bet on a warm day. The river is a 300 mile round trip from home and I will save my gas for a little more mild day. Here at home we got up to 38* but things stayed crunchy even then. By 6:00 PM all was frozen up again so I may have made a good call.

The last time I fished in sub freezing temps I snapped the butt of the rod I was casting and that memory is still fresh.

Ard...I guess spring is not completely here for you and Danthought you'd enjoy the pics.We had the rainiest March I've ever seen....So I couldn't fish as often as usual...that's the last straw for I'm retiredI should just keep the focus on the bright side....we"ll have water next summer andThe Boyne was flowing like 40 years ago...I've grown 40 years youngerThat's sooooooooo good
