Default Lower Mountain Fork River trip. 4-19-2017

Had a great time on the water today at the Lower Mountain Fork River. Caught plenty of 12-15" bows and tons of the small browns that were stocked earlier this year in the river. Also, many of the Vibert Box browns(very small) were also present and were caught and released. The weather was stellar with highs in the 70s with mostly cloudy skies in the morning, giving way to sunny and partly cloudy skies by mid day. Trout were rising everywhere, feeding on the small midges and mayflies. Mainly used dries all day because they were hitting it so well. Nothing large brought in, but saw many bows that appeared to go over 20".
Here is a very good friend of mine with another nice bow on.

Glad you had a good time. Always fun catching on dries. I have a trip planned May 5-7. My cousins have never been so we are going on a guided trip Sat afternoon. I have got to try out my new Sage ESN but glass rods and dries sound good too.

Hope you are doing well, Bill

Very cool, I'll be headed up there the first weekend of May to camp and fish. I'm looking forward to the nice vacation.

Thanks Larry. Sure was nice to get away from all the mowing and work for a change!
Good luck Bill and "outdoor_labs"!!! Hope the weather and the fishing co-operates for you! May is a good time to be down there on the LMF, if you can dodge the storms. Water temps are still very nice and cool, and still plenty of bugs hatching.

I will be there May 5th, 6th and 7th. If you see a short, fat and ugly guy driving a red Jeep say hello.
