Hi tractman,

Welcome to the forum. If you are going to fish the high Sierras you should get a back pack and hike into some of the high mountain lakes and streams. This is the best way I know of fishing the Sierras from Yosemite and south to the Kern River. Back packing opens up a lot of territory. Where do you live? Ezamora that posts here lives in Fresno and fishes the Sierras. He may have some ideas.

Welcome, Tractman! You live a lot closer to the good fishing than I do. How's this season treating you?

THanks everyone, I am certainly new to this type of fishing. I am curently looking for a casting class so I get started on the right foot. With the lack of snow in the Sierras last winter I am afraid our season here is going to be really short.....
