Thread: Greetings from Idaho

  1. #1

    Default Greetings from Idaho

Long time lurker, long time fly fisherman. With winter on want to get back to tying after being away from it for years. Hand full of grand kids wanting to get started in the sport, so could be a busy spring/summer for me. Looking forward to contributing to the forum.

Where do you live in Idaho? One of my favorite states.

Welcome to the forum idnative, looking forward to reading about your fishing adventures with the grankids. Don't forget to spend some time in the search feature, a wealth of information is hidden back in there.

I was going fly fishing until my wife suggested it, now I can't tell who is outsmarting who!

Being "one with nature" requires a knowledge of what animals are living nearby and a weapon of sufficient magnitude to give you at minimum an equal chance of survival. No one has an invisible aura that animals can detect and sense your good intentions.

Live in Boise, but grew up in SE Idaho. Taught to fly fish by my dad on beaver ponds and creeks. First thing I learned was how to roll cast, which has served me well over the years.

Welcome to the forum! You live in a great state for fly fishing. I bet you are looking forward to teaching the grandkids how to fish. I have a five year old grandson that loves fishing and it is a blast getting to take him out.
