Hello. I am from Houston, Texas. I mainly fish saltwater for specks and reds. I make my rods and tie my flies. I am 73 years of age now but I still get along fine most of the time. Besides fishing, rod building, and fly tying my interests are reading, gardening, cooking, and working out. I stay busy and enjoy life as much as possible. Hope to make some friends here.

Cheers, Ellis Mendiola (an old basque).

Hello Hightide and welcome to the forum, was surprised to see that hightide had not already been taken. I live in Arkansas but work and office out of Cuero, may have to work on an adventure together in one of the bays.

I was going fly fishing until my wife suggested it, now I can't tell who is outsmarting who!

Being "one with nature" requires a knowledge of what animals are living nearby and a weapon of sufficient magnitude to give you at minimum an equal chance of survival. No one has an invisible aura that animals can detect and sense your good intentions.

Howdy from the Canadian east coast.
We fish saltwater specs here too. Sea run speckled trout. They aren't the same are they?
