Default Hi from the Great Lakes

    Dear forum,

Introducing myself before I start prodding incessantly. I'm relatively new to fly fishing. I've been at it about 3 years so I know just enough to be dangerous.

I clumsily chase browns in the driftless area, steelhead in great lakes tributaries, brookies "up north" and float-tube stillwater when appropriate.

In my other life I also do a fair bit of bird hunting (grouse and pheasant for the discerning), backpacking, running and cycling.

I'm also a scientist (aquatic toxicologist) who studies fish.

Looking forward to pushing your buttons.

Welcome! the Driftless Area is also my focal point for trout fishing. Lots of fun there, and there are more than browns there - brookies and even rainbow can be found in the area.

Welcome to the forum, Bent Undergrowth. Lots of knowledgeable people here willing to help, so don't be shy about asking questions. Everyone was a beginner, once. Some of us, like me; twice.
