    Default New member intro

Hello, I signed up here a long time ago, I think so I could look at photos. I've been reading the forums off and on for years and decided maybe I should post something now and then.

I live in Montana. My home river is the Missouri, but I try to get all around the state. I mostly fish out of the way places during the summer and hit the rivers everybody comes from all over to fish in the shoulder seasons and winter, (yes, it is possible, and sometimes quite good, to fish here in the middle of winter). Been fishing with the long rod for about 30 years. I'll probably post mostly on the Rocky Mountain, Fly Rods, and General boards.

Oh, the user name is from a flirtation I had several years ago with learning to play the mandolin, so mando-trout; not man-do-trout. I've since given up and gone back to just the guitar, but since that's the user name I put in back then, I'll just roll with it.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

It's always good to read an intro where the new poster leaves a name, more personal I think

Don't be stingy with pictures of your area, it's been years since I've been there but used to come for a few weeks each year. Welcome to posting,

Welcome to the forum Jeff. You & I are a little alike. I too play the mandolin, I have a Michael Kelly, and fish the out of the way places most often.

Glad that you finally decided to jump in and start posting.

Thanks for the welcome. I played a Michael Kelly for a while. Then cycled through Kentucky, Weber, and finally Gibson. Oh, and I lived in Northern Colorado for twenty years before I moved here. I basically lived on a couple of those front range streams.

Fantastic! A Gibson, huh? How much did that set you back? No, don't answer that, I don't really want to know.

Maybe later on I'll pick your brain on some spots that you may have fished while in Colorado.
