Speaking of 'it wasn't cheap' I bought a set of 4 studded snow treads for my Silverado today and you wouldn't believe what they cost in Alaska. I'll...

I'm a wildlife artist, specializing in recent years in western mammals, fish, and fly fishing scenes. You may have seen my work, if nowhere else, on the covers of all the Bass Pro Shops fishing catalogs. I've been doing this professionally since 1983.
I was born, grew up, and have lived all my life in the Missouri Ozarks, though now my wife and I also have a place in Montana on the Yellowstone River, where we spend part of each year. I'm a bipolar angler. I grew up fishing for smallmouth bass with light casting tackle on Ozark streams, and floating an Ozark river in a solo canoe and fishing for bass with light baitcasting tackle is probably still my favorite kind of fishing, and what I generally do in the Ozarks. But in Montana, I fish almost exclusively for trout in streams with the fly rod. I've been fly fishing seriously since about 1996, when I made my first trip to Montana to fish. Mostly though, I just love rivers.
