About gzarboni
Biography:
I was born in 1970, I grew up in the small town of Chateauguay Quebec. There I grew to love the game of hockey. I spent most of my summers living in the Adirondacks, that's where my love of the outdoors began. Camping, hiking, fishing and eventually hunting. I worked really hard trying to make the NHL but things did not workout so I settled down, got a job, married and had a couple of boys. forward 10 years and now I am divorced and living on my own. The Adirondacks kept calling my name. I was reunited with a teenage crush I had met many many years earlier. We picked up exactly where we had left off and 4 months after that first meeting we got married. I moved to the Adirondacks and things have been terrific for the past 8 years. My boys are really happy here and we all enjoy the outdoor life. I have become a NY state fishing guide and enjoy sharing my passion for fishing and everything outdoors.

Feeling Blessed

by gzarboni on 01-22-2017 at 02:51 PM
I am no writer by any means but I want to share my feelings. I was on my way to Lake Placid to see the Dr. Along the way I had to pass a few small towns like Jay and Wilmington and North Elba. I could not help but feel blessed that I live in such a beautiful part of the country. The Adirondacks are truly spectacular.
My first stop was at a small park on the famed West branch of the Ausable river. I stopped here because a memorial has been set up for the late Francis Betters. Fran was

by gzarboni on 10-27-2013 at 03:55 PM

Hello all.
Well as you can see we got a little snow here in the Dacks this week. Temps have been dropping and are in the 30s during the day and high 20s at night. Fall is a great time to be here in the adirondacks, there are lots of festivals going on like the octoberfest, and lets not forget all the fright fests and pumpkin smashing.

Living in the "DACKS"

by gzarboni on 10-21-2013 at 06:47 PM
Hey all, I just wanted to share a little bit about living in the north eastern part of the Adirondacks "DACKS" in New York.
What can I say about the dacks? We live in a small town in the woods. We are only 20 miles from the US/Canadian border, about 60 miles from Montreal and it is these woods that I call home.
The temps have finally returned to normal, mid 40s and low 50s. Last few weeks have been in the mid 60s to low 70s. Just about all the leaves are gone

journey to fly fishing

by gzarboni on 10-19-2013 at 08:50 PM
Well here goes my first attempt at writting a blog. I wanted to share my journey of how I became a fly fisherman. I am 43 years old and this is my 2nd season fly fishing. I am not sure if you can consider me a fly fisherman just yet as I am still learning the ropes. My journey started about 5 years ago when I married the girl of my dreams and decided to move to the Adirondacks in New York. I am originally from a small town (Chateauguay) just off the island of Montreal. Canada. I fished with my Dad
